It is perfectly located to serve the broadest hinterland to the North, South, and West, especially the industry-rich and fast-growing Southeastern U.S. This also makes it an ideal fit as a first-in and last-out port of call for liner shipping services. Charleston offers customers the unique ability to consolidate operations and still efficiently serve the inland side from a central location.

Also, Charleston is blessed with a large natural harbor and terminals that are close to the open sea. Transit times to port facilities ranges from just one hour to Union Pier, to two hours to North Charleston Terminal. Charleston's longest transit time is shorter than our competitions shortest. In addition, the width and depth of Charleston's channels makes it safe for even the largest of cargo ships to pass in-harbor, thereby eliminating costly delays.
