South Carolina Ports has been working diligently to resume all operations, and all terminals are now operational. Our critical systems remain online at all marine terminals in Charleston and at both inland ports in Greer and Dillon. We are operating gates, processing trucks and working ships to efficiently deliver goods to companies and communities.
As initially reported, a technical issue occurred within the system. Our security operations center detected no cyber issue around the time the event occurred, and our system vendor has confirmed a technical issue occurred.
We greatly appreciate the support of our maritime partners, motor carriers, ocean carriers, customers and the broader Charleston community as we work through this.
Regional traffic impacts are always top of mind, and we thank the community and our partners for their patience. To mitigate impacts to our motor carrier communities, we extended gate hours — opening at 3 a.m. at Wando Welch and North Charleston Terminals yesterday and today — to further support drivers and reduce congestion in the region. We will offer additional gate hours at Inland Port Dillon tomorrow, Saturday, May 25, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We remain focused on efficiently moving goods for the thousands of companies and communities that depend on our port system. We are committed to providing excellent port service to our customers and being a good community partner. We will continue to communicate any updates.
Update 12 – Wednesday, May 22, 12 p.m.
SC Ports offers extended gate hours Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24
SC Ports will extend gate hours on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24 to support our motor carrier partners.
Gates will start processing trucks at 3 a.m. Thursday and Friday at Wando Welch and North Charleston Terminals. This is for dry containers only; not reefers.

Update 11 – Tuesday, May 21, 8 p.m.
SC Ports Marine Terminal Gates Open 5 a.m. – 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 22
SC Ports gate and yard operations are online, and operations have resumed at all marine terminals and Inland Port Greer.
The Wando Welch Terminal and North Charleston Terminal gates will operate under normal operating hours Wednesday, May 22, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Inland Port Greer will operate under normal hours, offering 24/7 service. Cargo pick up and drop offs will be accepted at all marine terminals and Inland Port Greer.
SC Ports is working to resume operations at Inland Port Dillon as quickly as possible. No cargo pick up or drop offs will be accepted at Inland Port Dillon at this time. SC Ports will provide updates as soon as possible.

Update 10 – Tuesday, May 21, 2:30 pm
SC Ports gate and yard operations are online and gates are now open.
Cargo pick up and drop offs are now accepted at all marine terminals and Inland Port Greer.
We are extending gates until 7 p.m. today at Wando and North Charleston terminals to support our motor carriers and cargo owners.

Update 9 – Tuesday, May 21, 11 a.m.
Inside the terminal, SC Ports’ operating system is up and running and vessels are being worked.
We are making significant progress on resuming gates. We will notify our maritime partners and motor carriers as soon as possible when cargo pick up and drop offs can occur.

Update 8 – Tuesday, May 21, 10 a.m.
SC Ports has made further progress on our gate issue, but it is not entirely resolved. We understand the impact that this issue is having on our partners in the industry. We are moving to hourly updates to keep our maritime partners and customers posted on our progress.
While we work through this, no cargo pick up or drop off will occur during this time. Please check back here throughout the day for updates.
