TROPICAL STORM DEBBY UPDATE

August 9, 2024

Update 7 – Friday, August 9 - TS DEBBY UPDATE 7, I-26 FLOODED at MM 189

10 AM Update: I-26 near Ridgeville

The detour in the area has been updated to improve travel efficiency around the flooded portion of I-26.

Take exit 189 to Highway 176 and exit on 17A. Take 17A to get back on to I-26 east.

Drivers should continue to avoid the area if possible. If you must travel through this corridor, slow down and stay alert for detour signs and first responders directing traffic.

Update 6 – Friday, August 9

Motor carriers please note I-26 in both directions near mile marker 189 east of Cypress Campground overpass is currently flooded.

Law enforcement is actively working to move traffic out of the roadway.

Please check road conditions before traveling.


Update 5 – Thursday, August 8

The South Carolina Ports Authority will return to normal operating hours on tomorrow.

Wando Welch and North Charleston Terminals

Single missions must enter by 1630. Dual missions must enter by 1600.

Update 4 – Thursday, August 8

SC Ports will extend gate hours at Wando Welch and North Charleston Terminals on Saturday, August 10. WWT and NCT will remain open until 1700.

Update 3 – Wednesday, August 7, 11:30 am

SC Ports will delay gate openings in Charleston and Dillon on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Inland Port Greer will operate under normal hours.

SC Ports will operate reduced gate hours in Charleston and Dillon on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Inland Port Greer will operate under normal hours.
