Wando Welch Terminal is SC Ports’ largest container terminal, moving approximately 80% of the port’s annual container volume. The terminal has an overall capacity of 2.4 million TEUs, including an expansive refrigerated container yard to handle the influx or refrigerated and frozen foods moving through the Port of Charleston. Wando Welch Terminal is designed to handle three mega container ships at one time, with the ability to handle up to 20,000-TEU vessels.
