The South Carolina Ports Authority, the ILA Clerks and Mechanics, and the motor carriers and drivers that serve the port have all been working diligently together to resolve the issues that caused the traffic congestion at the Wando Welch Terminal yesterday. We are in a much improved position today.
Even so, we are not yet where we want to be and the situation is still dynamic. As a result container gates at the Wando Welch Terminal will be open for extended hours tonight, Tuesday, June 21. Gates will be open straight through until 9:00PM. All trucks must be in the gate by 8:30PM. Gates will be open for dry and reefer containers. All three reefer vendors will be providing mechanics to service reefer containers.
We appreciate all of the hard work and coordination of all involved which has led to significant improvements in operations today.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as the new AGS is deployed.
