The South Carolina Ports Authority, the ILA Clerks and Mechanics, and the motor carriers and drivers that serve the port have all been working diligently together to resolve the issues that caused the traffic congestion at the Wando Welch Terminal yesterday. "This morning, things are flowing more smoothly and, although we are not yet where we want to be with the implementation of this new system, we are in a much improved position," said Jim Newsome, President and CEO of the SCPA. "We are mindful of the impact this has had on area traffic and we regret the inconvenience experienced yesterday by drivers in the area. Things are getting better and that improvement will continue until we are at full implementation."
